color run.

 this past weekend was one of my favorite "races" so far - the color run! it was held in Winston-Salem and there were a tonnn of people there. AB and one of my good friends Liz ran it with me. it was Liz's first 5k or race of any kind, and i'm really proud of her! she said at the end that she could go around again, that's how much fun she had. i like it when other people see that running can be fun, if you do it your own way. at the finish line festival there is music and a big color throw, where everyone opens their packets and you get coated in a layer of different colors. i ended up staying for a lot of color throws after Liz and Austin had to leave and got I COVERED from head to toe. i'm glad i did, it was a fun experience and i wanted to get as much out of it as i could. here are the pictures from the day - you can definitely tell the "before" and "after" shots!

see?! so much fun, right?! the last picture of me was the final product - after the run i went to watch AB's soccer game, and if only i could tell you all the funny comments and looks i got. highly amusing. it also didn't hurt that it was 76 degrees out and we spent almost the entire day in the sunshine! i can't WAIT for summer.
i would definitely suggest doing this race at some point - it was honestly a ton a fun, there were walkers and runners of all types, shapes, ages, and abilities. it's really great for anyone who wants to get out and get some exercise at their own level and get color-fied while you're at it! for more info you can hit up The Color Run and see if it's coming to a city near you!
